Introducing Sherwood Estate - Located on the famous Waipara Valley wine trail, an area that's best known for producing exquisitely spicy and rich Pinot Noirs and Rieslings, Waipara is recognised internationally as one of New Zealand's premier, cool climate wine growing regions.

Sherwood Estate is an excellent example of an independent, family owned winery that not only manage all aspects of sustainable wine-making themselves (from fruit harvesting to the finished product) but have also produced multiple, award winning wines.

Featured Wines

For your taste-buds pleasure in the month of June we have the below wines from the Sherwood Estate 'Stoney Range' available for tasting in our showroom.

2016 Riesling - Aromas of citrus and summer florals underlaid with light spice. Flavours of yellow stone fruit, citrus and slight sweetness. A rich palate with hints of spice, rich fruit and bright acidity.

2017 Pinot Gris - Aromas of savoury yellow stone fruit, florals, honey and nashi pear. The palate is light bodied and dryish to taste with flavours of yellow
stone fruit, subtle florals and honeysuckle. A dryish pinot gris with a rich
palate.

2017 Sauvignon Blanc - Aromas of gooseberry, lemongrass, boxwood, fresh celery and bready notes on the nose. The palate is dry to taste with juicy flavours of gooseberry and citrus forming a light, refreshing medium bodied wine with a tart yet soft lingering finish.

2017 Pinot Noir - Aromas of raspberries, plum, floral and mixed spice. Green coffee beans, leathery notes and cedar wood hint to oak complexities.
The palate is juicy and rounded with bright acidity and drying finish.

2017 Rose Saignee Pinot Noir - The Stoney Range Pinot Noir Rosé is brilliant salmon-pink in the glass with aromas of rose petal, peach and orange blossom. The palate is clean and fresh with flavours of Alpine strawberries and
hints of raspberries and a creamy balance. The wine is dry with lifted acidity that leaves a mouth-watering finish. This wine is made in the traditional French style to be light and dry and is best enjoyed with food.
